القصة

The Saudi executive will chair the mining company’s audit committee for a term ending in October 2029, alongside her investment role at NEOM.

Dr. Manar Al Moneef has been named chair of Ma’aden’s audit committee for its new term, bringing experience in healthcare, renewable energy and investment to a board committee at the Saudi mining company.

In a disclosure dated 28 October 2026 on its official Tadawul announcements page, Ma’aden said its board had approved the committee’s formation by circular resolution on 27 October. The committee’s responsibilities began on that date and run until the current board term ends on 24 October 2029.

The announcement identifies Al Moneef as a non-executive member. She chairs a five-member committee that also includes Ahmed AlHakbani, Richard O’Brien, Mike Cheng and Mohammed Al-Arifi.

A career across industries

Al Moneef is also NEOM’s chief investment officer, a position confirmed by its current leadership page. Her World Economic Forum biography describes responsibilities spanning investment strategy, growth initiatives, new business opportunities and partnerships.

Before NEOM, she spent a decade at GE in commercial and operational leadership positions. Her most recent role there was president and chief executive of GE Renewable Energy for the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, overseeing its onshore wind business and renewables portfolio.

Her earlier work connected healthcare expertise with investment. She served as director general for healthcare and life sciences at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority, where her work included developing knowledge-based investment in the Kingdom.

From healthcare to corporate governance

A GE appointment announcement datelined 1 November 2011 provides an earlier snapshot of that transition. It named the Saudi national managing director of Imagination Breakthrough in the Middle East, with responsibility for healthcare business development and strategic and technical consultancy.

That announcement also records previous roles in molecular pathology and genetics at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh and as an assistant professor at King Saud University.

Her career illustrates a professional route from scientific and healthcare work into commercial leadership, investment and corporate governance. The latest Ma’aden disclosure adds a defined committee term to that record, while keeping her board responsibilities distinct from her executive position at NEOM.
